Cafe du Monde is a staple in New Orleans, often with lines down the street just to get one of these scrumptious beignets! Luckily, it's open 24 hours, so my mom and I took at late night trip for some dessert. The pastries were flaky, warm, and absolutely covered in powder sugar! The coffee was strong, but good, and let's just say it was hard not to leave covered in white dust! Yum!

After a scorching hot tour at Tulane, my mom and I headed to Magazine Street to find something to eat. Taking the buses around the city was quite an adventure, and thankfully we found a Jamba Juice to cool us off. After the one closed in Dundee, I never pass up an offer to stop for a drink. This is a fresh squeezed juice and boy was it refreshing!
After the tournament, my mom and I moved to Hotel Ste. Helene. It is in the French Quarter and absolutely adorable! The rooms are small, yet modern, and our balcony and pool were so quaint! It felt like Europe! They also had complimentary breakfast which I added some juicy raspberries to. What a perfect place to eat a perfect breakfast!
My mom and I took a trip to the French Market and got everything from food to pom-pom shorts to beautiful art! These were some of the dried fruits I bought and they were delicious! With natural sugars, they are a sweet, yet healthy, treat. My bag included pineapples, papayas, kiwis, and strawberries.
